Places to visit - Tourist attractions in Mildura

We would recommend that the following destinations are great places to visit, to fill in your day, fill up your belly or the boot of your car or simply for your sensory pleasure.

Orange WorldOrange World: Just 5 minute drive from our cellar door, Orange World offers fresh seasonal citrus fruits and juices all year round. Take an informative tractor train tour around the 50 acre citrus property and then climb to the top of the lookout tour for sweeping, spectacular views of the district. Partake of the Dutch Pancakes and a steaming cup of tea.
Fun Fact: Did you know that Orange World was the location for the shooting of the Cottee’s Cordial advert? You know the one, "My dad picks the fruit that goes to Cottees, to make the cordial that I like best!" Did you also know that the orange trees didn’t look as good as required during the shoot, so the crew strung oranges and hung them in the Avocado trees for a greener background?

Trentham Estate WineryTrentham Estate Winery: Take a short 10 km drive from our gate to one of the districts most awarded wineries. Tastings of the extensive wine range is a real must, then settle back with a beautiful meal in the restaurant, or for a more casual affair, with a platter or BBQ outside on the lawns; all the time overlooking the Mighty Murray River. A mooring site is available so this is a great lunch option for the houseboat holiday maker. You can even take a paddle boat ride from the Mildura wharf on the "P.S. Melbourne” up to the winery for lunch and then a leisurely cruise home.

Stefano’s RestaurantStefano’s Restaurant: Situated in the heart of Mildura and only a 5 minute drive from our farm, this renowned restaurant is located in the cellar of the historical Mildura Grand Hotel. Stefano has recently again taken over the operation of the business that bears his name. Receiving his 2nd Hat in 2014 following on from his first in 2007, Stefano is probably Mildura’s most well known ambassador. He is passionate about simple food made with simple ingredients and also about the Sunraysia region. Those two combine to create a wonderful culinary experience.
Fun Fact: Did you know that during the filming of his second cooking series "Cooking Paradiso” (Gondola on the Murray being the first), Varapodio Estate featured as the setting for the Olive Oil processing and cooking episode, with a dish of Spaghetti and Tomato Pichio Pachio. Stefano then took olive oil to cook olive oil chocolate cake, which also features on our dessert menu.
